(EN): Third graders were tasked with figuring out how to make a ping pong ball go up and out of a wind tunnel using various materials. As part of the Build Back Better Grant, Fluxspace (Buttonwood Street) will facilitate design thinking lessons to all third graders over the next three school years.

El programa CSO es parte del ecosistema de Experiencias STEM para la Equidad y la Diversidad (PA SEED) de Pensilvania. Nuestras CSO llevarán a cabo un plan de acción este año que se alinee con los objetivos de las CSO. (EN): Our Chief Science Officers (CSOs) participated in their first cabinet meeting. The CSO program is part of Pennsylvania’s STEM Experiences for Equity and Diversity (PA SEED) Ecosystem. A CSO’s goals are: be a student voice for their schools, bring STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) opportunities to their peers, and bring change to their communities. Our CSOs will carry out an action plan this year that aligns with the CSO goals.

(EN): On Monday, December 4, 2023, at their Reorganization Meeting, Norristown Area School District welcomed two newly elected Board of School Directors: Tessi Ruiz and Mao Howell. Ms. Ruiz was elected and sworn in for a two year term, while Mr. Howell will serve a four year term. Re-elected members Monica D’Antonio, Philip Daniels, Sharon Mauch, and Ingrid Parker were sworn in for new four year terms. They join board members Marissa Dell, Christopher Jaramillo, and Cynthia Wirth. The board voted Christopher Jaramillo to serve as board president and Ingrid Parker to serve as board vice president for 2024. We are excited to welcome our new members and get to work with our new leadership in service to this great community.
