The Norristown Area School District is proud to announce the winners of this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month Writing Contest! Open to all elementary students in grades K-4, the contest celebrated the theme, "Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together," and encouraged students to reflect on Hispanic heritage and its lasting impact. Participants submitted entries in English, Spanish, or a combination of both languages, showcasing their creativity, cultural understanding, and linguistic talents.
After careful consideration, district representatives selected the following winners for each grade level:
Kindergarten: Aynara, Paul V. Fly Elementary School
Grade 1: Renata, Cole Manor Elementary School
Grade 2: Kimberly, Cole Manor Elementary School
Grade 3: Amy Sophia, Davenport Elementary School
Grade 4: Paulette, Cole Manor Elementary School
These talented young writers will be recognized for their outstanding achievement at the January 27, 2025 School Board Meeting, where they will have the opportunity to read their pieces either in person or via recording. Each winner will receive a certificate of achievement, a copy of the Hispanic Heritage Month Read Aloud and a $25 gift card to Recycle Read Repeat bookstore in Norristown, thanks to the generosity of the Norristown Area Education Foundation.
Congratulations to our winners and all students who participated in this meaningful celebration of Hispanic heritage! Your voices and stories help shape the future and enrich our community.
