Last Thursday, November 9, was the 42nd Annual Hall of Champions and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Norristown Area High School. This year, four NAHS graduates were inducted into the Hall of Champions and five NAHS graduates were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Established in 1977, The Hall of Champions celebrates graduates who made outstanding contributions to athletics during high school, and the Hall of Fame honors alumni who have distinguished themselves following graduation.
This year's Hall of Champions inductees were:
Marques O. Green - Class of 2000 (Basketball)
Michael B. Whitehead - Class of 2003 (Track and Field)
Zachary E. Fuentes - Class of 2013 (Wrestling)
Natalie C. Mitchell - Class of 2015 (Field Hockey)
This year’s Hall of Fame inductees were:
John B. Haines - Class of 1956 (Business)
Frank J. Wierman Class of 1964 (Medical Missionary)
William B. Laskin - Class of 1969 (Medicine)
Leonard A. Bazemore - Class of 1988 (Business Entrepreneur)
Akbar Hossain - Class of 2009 (Government)
