Superintendent Christopher Dormer was a guest on Fox 29 Philadelphia on Tuesday to discuss Governor Shapiro’s new breakfast program. NASD already had a breakfast program in place through the Community Eligibility Provision of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program. NASD moved their breakfast program to be in the classroom almost three years ago. Since making this switch, participation in the breakfast program increased by over 50%, totaling at 61% participation. Through the governor’s new program, all Pennsylvania public school students are offered free breakfast every day.
