Norristown Area High School -

From February 21st to the 23rd Norristown DECA took 32 members to compete at the State Career Development Conference in Hershey. For many of our competitors, it was not just their first time at states but also their first time ever competing. We made a lot of incredible memories and had an unforgettable experience, all while making our mark. For the first time in years, NAHS DECA had one of our members, Jack Falk, running for the executive council. After countless hours of campaigning and hard work, Jack was elected to be on the 2024-2025 PA DECA State Officer Team. In addition to our newly elected executive council member, we had more NAHS DECA members making their mark on stage. The team of Zoe Alvarado, Sara Chaaraoui, and Allison Trejo-Leal received medallions on stage for being finalists in their event, IMCE. Lily Hernandez also received a medallion on stage for being a finalist in her event, PSE. Our four-year NAHS DECA member, Jack Rosen was also on stage to receive his medallion for high roleplay B in his event, ACT. Norristown DECA was also recognized for a handful of achievements such as doubling our membership, completing the membership campaign, and reaching Legendary Tier in the PA DECA Plan of Action. Congratulations to all of our members for their hard work and dedication. NAHS DECA had an amazing time at HERSHEY. We truly experienced the difference.

Athletic physicals will be available for anyone going out for a Spring sport on Tuesday February 20, 2024 at NAHS in the Health Suite starting at 3:00. If you already have had a physical and played a Fall or Winter sport you do not need another physical BUT need to do a recertification (see your BigTeams account). ENG: Norristown Area High School and the district have been taking a hard look at our school parking lot and the safety of all the vehicles which use the space. Even though there have been multiple messages, signs and school announcements, the school parking lots remain areas of concern. A big concern are students parking in spaces they are not supposed to. We have several instances where students are parking in our teacher or student parking lot without their vehicles having a parking sticker registered by our School Resource Officer (Corporal Sheppard). Passes have been available since the fall. but are now in limited supply. Parking illegally in either student or teacher parking lots may result vehicles being towed. We use a local towing agency Hassan Qawasmy, 229 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA, 19401 (610-277-0895). Vehicles can be recovered after paying the cash only tow and storage fee at the address above ( N-Book, pp 55-56). Secondly, we are respectfully asking that students be picked up and dropped off by the gymnasium by accessing the student parking lot. Our goal is to provide, safety for all of our students, staff and families. *** ESP: Norristown Area High School y el distrito han estado analizando detenidamente el estacionamiento de nuestra escuela y la seguridad de todos los vehículos que utilizan el espacio. ENG: Brandon Zuniga and Jetta Reynolds participated in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 11 Choir festival last Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. They worked hard alongside 171 of the best vocalists from Bucks and Montgomery Counties to perform what was one of the best District 11 Concerts that I’ve ever experienced. They had the privilege to learn under the direction of Dustin Cates (Boyer College of Music and Dance - Temple University). Please congratulate these young musicians on how beautifully they represented our school and how hard they worked to get there. *** ESP: Brandon Zuniga y Jetta Reynolds participaron en el festival del Coro del Distrito 11 de la Asociación de Educadores de Música de Pensilvania el pasado miércoles, jueves y viernes. Trabajaron duro junto a 171 de los mejores vocalistas de los condados de Bucks y Montgomery para realizar lo que fue uno de los mejores conciertos del Distrito 11 que jamás haya experimentado. Tuvieron el privilegio de aprender bajo la dirección de Dustin Cates (Boyer College of Music and Dance - Temple University).
