This was an amazing weekend in Norristown. Saturday the NAHS Senior Prom was held at the Alloy Hotel. The event captured the essence of our community. Wearing their finest attire, it was a pleasure to witness our young people move into adulthood. Families, friends, and teachers were present to admire our seniors. The event, which lasted late into the night featured, dinner, dancing, and an all-around good time.
A huge thank you goes to the dream team of Ms. Carmona, Ms. Lavetsky, and Ms. Martin, who have tirelessly ensured that the class of 2023 had an amazing send-off.

Tomorrow is an Early Dismissal Day, and NAHS will be running Block 2 and Block 1. What does this mean?
-- AM TECH students will report to CMTHS as normal, and will be transported home from CMTHS. They will not come to NAHS.
-- PM TECH students will report to NAHS, and will be bussed to CMTHS at 10:45 AM.
Tomorrow begins Keystone Exams at NAHS. This means the schedule will be a bit different. Please note:
-- Literature is on Mon, May 15 & Weds, May 17
-- Algebra is on Thurs, May 18 & Fri, May 19
-- Biology is on Mon, May 22 & Tues, May 23
Students who are testing have received emails, phone calls, and a letter with their testing schedule.
If you are not testing, you have a 3-hour delay. This means you will report to your bus stop 3 hours later than usual. Only test-takers will be permitted on campus prior to 10:15 AM.
AM TECH students, if you are not testing, you report to CMTHS as usual. You do not have a 3-hour delay. AM TECH students who are testing need to report to NAHS at 7:25 AM. This information was emailed to students.

This morning, Dr. McGriff honored Sam Stansbery as the NAHS Staff Member of the Month for March. Congratulations to Sam - we are very proud to have Sam as a member of our faculty! Here is what Sam's colleagues had to say about him:
"Sam is a rock star. He actually looks like one too! He is constantly thinking of how he can support and help the students to improve themselves. He goes above and beyond by staying after school to sponsor clubs and activities. He is a genuine, caring, and kind individual. He also supports his fellow teachers in any way he can. Sam would probably balk at receiving this honor, which is just one more reason he deserves it."

In April, a group of eight NAHSDECA members traveled to Orlando, Florida to participate in DECA's international conference. We arrived on Friday, April 21st, and had a fun-filled day on Saturday at Universal Studios. Throughout the event, we enjoyed attending ceremonies and competing while also networking and building relationships with individuals from all over the United States and many other countries. Our experience was truly amazing and has increased our passion for "Experiencing the Difference" with DECA in the upcoming year.

Last week, the NAHS Band, Orchestra, Guitar Ensemble, and Choirs performed in their Spring Concerts. Both concerts contained a difficult repertoire of music and showcased the high level of talent present in all of our performing ensembles. Congratulations to all of our students for a job well done! Thank you to Mrs. Danoff, Mrs. Blum, and Mrs. Malkasian for all of your hard work!
UNIDAD's 3rd Annual Diversity Day was a great success. It was a day filled with students, alumni, staff, and community members who came together to collaborate on ways to move forward post pandemic as a global society. Our presenters spoke about diversity, how we need to be upstanders in our community when we see injustice, and how we need to embrace our differences to thrive in a global environment. There were also presenters who spoke about college and how to navigate higher education. Thank you to Madame Shahin and Senorita Torres, UNIDAD Advisors, for all their hard work.
