First Grade is continuing to work in the Module “A World of Books.” They have learned that books can teach about empathy. They listened to “Chocolate Milk Por Favor” and talked about how a new student might feel entering a school. They said asking the new friend to play on the swings would make the child feel welcomed! They used Strawbees to design their own swings! They did a FANTASTIC job!

Fourth Grade continues to learn about the circulatory system! Students represented the heart, veins, arteries, and capillaries with yarn and crayons. They created heart pumps to represent the blood being pushed from the ventricles to the lungs and body. They were “pumped” about this STEM experiment!

First Grade began their Module on "A World of Books." They learned that books can teach about different traditions, cultures, and time periods. After creating a list of different things they could learn from books, they read "How to Change the World in Twelve Easy Steps." They used their knowledge of shapes to create a flower on a geoboard. Their designs are magnificent and sure to bring a smile to everyone!

Computer coding is a huge part of STEM and is what creates all the software, apps, and websites! Binary code is one type of coding that uses 0 and 1 to represent letters, numbers, and symbols. Students in Fourth and Third Grades had the opportunity to code their names! After writing their name in code, they created bracelets to represent their initials!

As part of our PBIS program, all Paul Fly students learned our bus rules and expectations this week with Mrs. Wechsler! They even got to get on an actual bus to practice how to enter and exit safely, as well as how to sit properly on the bus. Please ask your child how they can be safe on the bus, at the bus stop, and on the bus platform at school!
