Parents & Families play a vital role in preparing students for a successful testing experience.  Here are some tips to help your student approach the PSSA with a positive attitude:

  •  Please do not plan any vacations or appointments for your child during the PSSA testing window.
  •   Make sure your son/daughter gets a good night’s sleep before each of the PSSA testing sessions.
  • Provide a nutritious breakfast on the days of the test.
  • Be sure your child arrives at school on time.
  • Express your confidence in your child and communicate your high expectations.
  • Emphasize the importance of testing to your child.  Encourage your son/daughter to “show what they know”.
  • Don’t underestimate your power as a parent.  Be your child’s cheering section and reinforce their confidence.  Your child will benefit from your positive outlook.
  • A snack will be provided for your child daily.  If your child is allergic to different food products, please send in a daily snack for them to have during the set aside time.  Please touch base with your child’s teacher if you have questions.

If you are planning on opting you student out of the test please notify Mr. Skoczynski at the phone number or e-mail listed above.  Please do so by 3/29/17.  Thank you.

PSSA Schedule notes

Please note that 3rd & 4th grade have a modified schedule due to testing. They will be testing in the morning and will have modified instruction for the afternoon. Because of the nature of the test they will be provided with a variety of non-strenuous activities after the testing time. The modified schedule will begin on Monday, April 3, 2017 and we will resume our regular school schedule on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
