Eisenhower Science and Technology Leadership Academy (ESTLA) is located in the Municipality of Norristown. Originally opened as a high school in 1937, ESTLA remained a high school until 1980. In 1980, it was converted to a Junior High School and remained as such until 1983. Since 1983, ESTLA has operated as a middle school serving grades 6-8 and special needs students. Currently, Eisenhower Science and Technology Leadership Academy services grades 5-8 and special needs. ESTLA is a state of the art building that boasts a large lobby area and modern auditorium. One cannot help but notice the painted ceiling and copper trim throughout the lobby area.
Eisenhower Science and Technology Leadership Academy is a learning community filled with many opportunities for students to experience intellectual and social growth as they begin their adolescent years. The teachers at Eisenhower structure lessons to meet the needs of young adolescents and provide a curriculum that is relevant, challenging, integrative, and exploratory. As one enters the school, they are greeted with the school motto, Enter to Learn, Exit to Serve. This summarizes the goal of ESTLA.

Our building is inviting and we offer many support services to our students to ensure a safe environment for all members of the Eisenhower community. Some school-wide programs fostering the health, safety, and wellness of our students include:

  • Seasonal Sports
  • 21st Century After School Program
  • Chorus / Performing Arts
  • Instrumental Music
  • Robotics
  • Big Brothers / Big Sisters Mentoring Program
  • In-School Counseling Program
  • Student Council
  • Girl Scouts
  • SOS - Someone Special Mentors
  • Healthy Panther Club
  • D.A.R.E

The academic programs at ESTLA are rigorous and exciting. These programs are designed to meet students at their current educational level and advance students throughout the school year. The staff works collaboratively to plan engaging activities that motivate the students to Learn More.

ESTLA also has programs available to meet the needs of exceptional children in Montgomery County. Currently four special needs classes are housed at ESTLA including life skills, multiple disabilities, and autistic support. Students in these programs are a vital part of the ESTLA Community and are receiving access to the core curriculum..

The calendar at ESTLA is always full of engaging activities for students, their families, and the community. Activities are available on this website to keep all family members informed about the latest events. Please visit the school calendar and join us at our next event.
