The Winfield Scott Hancock Elementary School was constructed in 1962. The school is located in the Municipality of Norristown, and educates approximately 400 students in first through fourth grade. The school is a neighborhood school with 80 percent of the children within walking distance.
Parents are encouraged to participate in volunteer opportunities with the Parent-Faculty Association (PFC). Special parent involvement activities include: Welcome Back BBQ, Open House, Math & Reading Nights, Make It -Take Workshops, PSSA Night, Read Across America, and Family Fun Nights.

Conferences are held twice a year to involve parents in their child’s education.
