TheNorristown Area High School (NAHS) is a comprehensive public high school established in 1870 in the Municipality of Norristown and relocated to West Norriton Township in 1972. The student population is about 1,800 students in grades 9-12.

 

College bound students choose a weighted honors track and take Advanced Placement®course work and exams. The advanced course participation rate at Norristown Area High School is 28 percent. For a description of all our course offerings, please review the NAHS Program of Studies. 

 

NAHS has a full complement of boys’ and girls’ sports, musical groups, co-curricular and extracurricular activities including Army JROTC, cultural, service, and drama clubs. We are very proud of the exemplary commitment, dedication, and outstanding work in supporting meaningful high quality enrichment opportunities for our students.  A comprehensive list of clubs, activities and sports is available to view here.

The state-of-the-art TV production studio broadcasts news and original programming both internally and on the community access cable channel.

Colleges and universities across the United States will be opening their classrooms to the Norristown Area High School students in the fall, including Princeton University, US Naval Academy, and many other distinguished institutions of learning.
